Dress and teach
Text: Alberto Fernández Otto | Photos: Mario Chavarría
A red-carpet celebrity is an intern at fashion school. Above them, the ladder is extended in various ranges towards truly understood, the net-celebrities. From their blogs, they give them lessons. Gala González, with 23, is one of those who teach.

The blog of Gala receives around 14.000 visits per day: 10.000 to register her look of the day on the London streets, where she lives; around 3.000 to feed her envy and around 1.000 to probe the growth of her hair. The sum literally turns her into a fashion star. A few weeks ago, Ericsson invited her to Madrid to present its latest mobile Xperia Pureness. And the next morning we had the opportunity to go with her for a walk.
Dress yourself is your profession? Dress myself is my downfall.
So what are you looking for with a streetstyle blog? Show, share, lecture, give envy? Display, share and learn. Criticism helps to see yourself from an objective point of view and especially to fight to keep a personal style and apart from the pack of others.
Are you interested in the look of others? What do you analyze? I’m fascinated to see how people combines a garment that I have in my closet and it takes a completely different meaning within the outfit. I analyze the ability of the correct use of the colors and volumes palette, for me this is the key to success.
Have you ever reneged on a trend? Many! I do not get all that is fashionable. I choose the proposals from the designers that fit better on me.
Do you hate a color? The blue sky, it doesn’t fit me. Ha ha ha.
What can teach a net celebrity like you to all life celebrities? That you needn’t to measure 1.80 neither take a 34 size, to be wonderful on the big screen, or having an incredible voice to get where one is proposed.
You designed your first collection called The Music Collection, who owes more to who, the brand to the street or the street to the brand? One without the other never work. It is a symbiotic relationship.
Do you dare to describe (in terms of look) the coming decade?
The “two thousand” has been a decade in which we couldn’t say yet it has been nothing concrete… It has been a potpourri. I think that until technology, science and the arts don’t make a new discovery we will be in a permanent “fashionista limbo”.

lovely look!
fantastic!
I occasionally visit Gala’s blog to see what she’s wearing but i’ve never really understood what she does for living. you write that she’s an “intern at fashion school”
who does she intern for? what is her major exactly?
lovely photos by the way.
Muy buena la entrevista! Tanto por parte de Alberto como de Gala. Me ha gustado eso del “limbo fashionista” y la comparación de una net-celebritie como ella con las celebrities de alfombra roja.
Saludos.
